From early childhood it was the human form- movement, mood, shape, expression- that fed my need to draw and paint. It wasn’t until more recently, when I moved from the town to the East Sussex countryside, that I began to find further inspiration not only in the beautiful views I was now surrounded by, but also in my earlier life growing up on the south coast. In all my sea and landscapes it is vast expanse of sky that dominates each piece. Using oils as my preferred medium, for whichever genre, I work from life, from sketches past and present, from memory and imagination.
